So...we just finished our unit on the Holocaust and during our wrap discussion we touched upon the world's pledge, "never again." Sadly, this is been anything but true since the end of the holocaust. The world has stood by on a number of occasions while innocents have been slaughtered. The massacre in Darfur is only the most recent example of this. So what does "never again" mean if it happens again and again. What stock can we put in the promises of the United Nations and the international community? Finally who is responsible for ensuring that this never occurs again....
Some of the images and dialogue in this clip are disturbing. However, it might be worth viewing because this will help to round out your knowledge on human rights violations in the last 60 years or so.
